Juan Williams Calls Michelle Obama a Liability

January 28, 2009

Where else would you cut down the First Lady? Juan Williams makes my idiot list, slamming Michelle Obama on the O’Reilly Factor. The rest of the commentary in this clip is dim and obviously intended for other idiots.

Obama reaches out on Al-Arabiya TV

January 28, 2009

President Barack Obama‘s television interview on Al-Arabiya was a bold move and a big break from what Americans have gotten used to over the last eight years.

In a little over a week, Obama has made some sea changes in certain policy areas even if in some cases this just amounts to getting the country back to “normal.”

Even many Obama critics were delighted by the president’s willingness to accept such a risky interview, which could have produced some awkward moments. Also surprising was Obama’s willingness to discuss the tough Israeli-Palestinian problem were tensions are still high after the recent ceasefire in Gaza. The lull in fighting was interrupted today as Israeli aircraft retaliated after one of their soldiers was killed by a bomb while on patrol. The attacks come just as U.S. envoy George Mitchell began his Middle East tour.

Rep. Bartlett (R-MD) Gives Dear Leader History Lesson

January 28, 2009

Rep. Roscoe Bartlett (R-MD) gave Barack Obama a history lesson today during Obama’s meeting with House Republicans.
Jake Tapper reported:

Rep. Roscoe Bartlett, R-Md.: “Mr. President, I probably come at this from a slightly different perspective. I remember when FDR beat Hoover in 1932. So I remember the Great Depression very well. I don’t remember any of the many government programs affecting the course of the Depression. Government programs didn’t work then, I don’t know why we think they would work now. Mr. President, I think our obsessive borrowing has fully mortgaged my kids and my grandkids. Now we’re working on mortgaging my two great-grandkids. Mr. President, I think it’s more than a little bit selfish to try to solve our economic problems which we created by burdening future generations yet to be born.” *

This prompted applause.

The Congressional Budget Office has released an analysis of the House version of the stimulus bill (H.R. 1) and reported that less than 21% of the bailout will be spent this year:

Read the Stimulus has more on this massive boondoggle.

Republicans who attended the sessions said the president did not agree to any specific changes.

The 10.2 MP digital range-finder camera is seen in an iconic safari colorway, a style originally seen on the 1970s Leica R3 and marked by a symbolic vulcanite finish, something Leica has largely moved away from for some time. The Safari edition and its low 500-set run includes a Summicron 28mm f/2.8 lens, UV/IR filter, a matching Billingham camera bag and leather strap. The whole collector package will set you back a hefty 7500 EUR (approximately $9,900 USD) and can be bought over at foto-konijenberg.nl.

The Bapesta from last years SpongeBob x Bape capsule is seen here in an all new light. The shoe features the replacing the previously seen patent leather upper with croc leather. No word (most likely not) yet on a release date, but we assume these were custom joints for Pharrell.
